There is consistent evidence of an association between violence supportive beliefs and values and perpetration of violent behavior at both individual and community levels. Chauvinist men would most likely practice marital violence. In addition, some women agree with violence encouraging understandings of sexual attacks or home battering.

Culture demands that women should be submissive resulting to creation of a mentality that men are more superior and right that they end up blaming themselves. They do not report the violent acts to the police or other authorities and they end up experiencing negative long-term emotional and psychological impacts. Relevance of this information in terms of attitude, concept, and skill.

In my opinion and belief, it is ok to be submissive and respectful to the male gender but that does not mean that a female should take in and condone any kind of violence directed to her. The reading fits to my belief that women should be submissive. I also do not feel that battering is a way of showing love. Some of the concepts that I have gained are that having come from a communism culture, I know the challenge of violence towards women has taken roots and some women have accepted it as a part of life.

Women staying in abusive relationships encourage the men to be more violent since the men already know that they have an upper hand over them. The attitude gained from the reading is that the female deserve respect.
