The 2 nd Amendment is about the right to bear arms, the right we have as American citizens to carry a firearm as protection. The right given to us by the constitution clearly mentions the right we have to owning a firearm for our protection. There are instances where owning a gun may dissolve a conflict before the police or anyone who could even remotely help would be able to arrive. Showing those criminals how they are viewed by pointing a gun back at them causes them to quaver in their choice to wreak havoc.
As gun control is such a controversial topic that leads to arguments of whether it should be legalized or not, the idea that we would not be able to defend ourselves, should the need arise, is a horrific nightmare and almost a terrible reality. Legalizing gun control will only further the pain caused to our county through the many instances that have occurred in the past and recently. The Second Amendment states that it is the right for a militia to have weapons, not every one.
That is not true. People actually had a say in what the militia did. Now we have no say and that is what the 2nd amendment is meant to protect against. The army is not well regulated as the president is the only person that they take orders from.
Think about it this way: The president brings gun control into being and everyone has to give up their guns, might seem harmless, oh yes. But how did every genocide ever in history start?
Oh yeah…by their guns and weapons being taken away. This causes the people to be defenseless and all of a sudden our government is overbearing. We were meant to be able to protect ourselves from the government should it ever become corrupt and THAT is why gun control is bad. This has nothing to do with what you think the second amendment means, but everything to do with the fact that if our government is not well-regulated, we could be a part of another genocide.
Gun control is no bueno. It is all there. You just read it wrong and interpreted it wrong. This is healthy discussion and debate; no need to get feisty. I have studied this topic quite extensively and discussed it with many people. Thanks have a great day. That makes me so happy! Based like half of my essay on your points…. I got a when I turned this in to my teacher so let me know how you do!!!
Gun control is already a legal thing. Just thought I would point that out, since your last paragraph states that legalizing it would be harmful. Also, in regards to the size of the magazine point you have, say instead of having a 30r round mag you have a 15 round mag, thats 15 less dead first graders.
Not in the majority of the US. Legalizing it would be harmful. Just like not having gun control could also create 15 less dead first graders. It all depends on if there are those with guns who are willing to stand up to those people who would even contemplate killing people.
Just making everyone defenseless. Only if you are using it as an example for what yours will maybe look like. But you can absolutely use it as a jumping off point. Once the law is applied at the State level, all the states shall come up with distinct approaches to address the issues of gun possession, sales, permission, licensing, carrying laws and self-defense.
